Home Security Analysis

When starting something you should first do some research.  When a professional security company makes up a home security analysis it is a process that goes through three phases:

• First a threat assessment is made.  They assess the threat to your property and family based on the crime statistics for your community (Local law enforcement and your insurance company can probably provide you with data you need to make this assessment should you want to do this yourself).  This allows them to separate real threats from perceived ones and act accordingly.
• Next they’ll have to do a vulnerability assessment. This is an evaluation of your home and premises.  The goal is to determine what would make your home and family susceptible to threats they discovered during the threat assessment.  They will markdown all the weak points of your house.
• Finally during security analysis they will react to the results of the vulnerability assessment and make recommendations to improve the safety of your home.  They should not use security analysis only to sell you their products but it should also contain general safety advice that can be implemented without cost.

It is highly recommended that you let a professional, certified security company do the analysis of your home.  By doing it yourself you can easily overlook things because it’s often the little things that make a difference.
